Accident, Sickness & Unemployment Cover (ASU)

This is a very important insurance in that it will pay a specified monthly amount on any of the above events usually after a period of 1 month and is more commonly used to cover mortgage payments, in return for a nominal monthly payment (on average £15 per month). Such plans will pay out for maximum of 24 months or until you return to work, whichever is the earlier.
